In September 1993, KAZN AM 1300 began broadcasting in Chinese Mandarin, making it the first and only free-access full-day Chinese-language radio in the U.S. In July 1998, KAZN was acquired by MRBI and incorporated into MRBI’s Chinese Media Group operations.
(Launched in December 1998, KMRB AM1430 Chinese Cantonese Radio, under the ownership of MRBI broadcasts 24 hours in Cantonese.)
