LA大麻基地引民眾怒吼　市長專訪：華人要打開心扉接受大麻 02/06/2019

大麻熱席捲北美，洛杉磯鄰近華人區的艾爾蒙地市（El Monte），通過建造一個集種植、加工、測試和商業銷售「一條龍」的大麻基地。由於選址接近民居，激起附近城市華裔居民憤怒抗爭，憂整個聖蓋博谷（San Gabriel Valley）淪陷成「大麻谷」。該市市長接受《蘋果》專訪時表示，引入大麻產業能增加稅收，使城市財政更穩健；他強調藥用大麻只是一種藥，勸華人打開心扉接受。

屬於高分學區的洛杉磯天普市（Temple City），該市向來深受華裔歡迎，樓價一直高企。而擬改建成大麻基地的天普市大街（Temple City Blvd）4400街區，處於艾爾蒙地市內，與天普市僅一街之隔。

自11月27日艾市批准大麻城計劃後，事件在社群平台迅速發酵，亞裔居民上周末罕有遊行抗議，吸引近千人上街，要求推翻計劃，還提出罷免現任市長及支持法案的議員。

去年，天普市的金悅飯店（Golden Motel）改建遊民之家，引起民眾不滿。該運動的活躍分子Jenny，也加入到這次反大麻城活動。住在天普市的她，除害怕大麻用現金交易、容易引發罪案外，也擔心生產大麻過程中，對家裏分別12歲及10歲的孩子，造成影響。

中國移民Chloe慨嘆，中國人「事不關已已不勞心」，到美國後只想好好過活，可是沒想到有一天大麻會來到家門口，「我們在中國一黨專政習慣了，領導要我們做什麼，國家要我們做什麼，我們就跟著做，所以沒有爭取自己權益的意識」，她希望亞裔不要再做「啞裔」，多投票﹑參與社區活動，團結起來維權。

天普市大街4400街區現址，目前為一家傢俱店，老闆岳先生表示，兩個月前才得悉該址擬用作興建大麻基地，他正忙於清倉。岳先生說，與業主的租約早已到期，目前按月租下該地段，如果市府最終通過改建大麻基地，只好把傢俱店搬到其他地方。

對於大麻產業落戶艾市，市長奎特羅（Andre Quintero）強調，市府不會批准開設大麻販售點和商店，只批准非零售用途的藥用大麻產業。此外，當局將設立一套嚴格規定，例如24小時監察大麻栽種、直至成品送到藥房的過程。除了繳稅外，營運者也要把部份收益捐予學校。
